Asbestos Management Surveys
All non-domestic properties built before the year 2000 should have had an Asbestos Management Survey undertaken. This type of survey is intended to identify any asbestos contraining materials (ACMs) that may be present in the property and to determine if they present any risk to the persons occupying that property.
An Asbestos Management Survey will identify the location of any ACMs. Their type, asbestos fibre type, their extent or quantity, and their condition.
Asbestos Re-inspection Surveys
Asbestos Re-inspections are carried out periodically following an Asbestos Management Survey, to determine if any of the previously identified ACMs have deterioriated in condition and to ensure that the property is still safe to use or occupy.
Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition Surveys
An Asbestos Refurbishment or Demolition Survey is undertaken before any works begin on a property to identify any ACMs that may not have been identified by the previous Management Survey.
This type of survey uses intrusive, destructive sampling methods to obtain material samples that would not normally be taken during a Management Survey.
Surveys of this type are undertaken to ensure that workers are not exposed to asbestos materials when they are carrying our refurbishment or demolition works to a property.
